“Today, the people of Massachusetts voted to uphold the rights of their transgender neighbors to be free from discrimination and told the forces of hate they are too late, no one is going back in the closet," said Rea Carey, executive director of the National LGBTQ Task Force Action Fund.
"While groups such as the Alliance Defending Freedom used this ballot initiative to push ugly myths against transgender people, progressive activists did not push lies or spin. We succeeded by simply telling the stories of everyday people that would have been impacted had this anti-discrimination law been repealed.”
